Firstly, I congratulate all of our teams for this past season. Our most successful ever. From our U18's achieving a joint 2nd placed finish in their debut season at U'18 level having stepped up from Moorgreen Colts at U16 level - the Pathway has started with a bang. Our Ladies not only finishing 3rd in their respective division but winning the league cup, of which is a night I will never forget. Our Men's Firsts finding the courage to find results to pull away from the relegation spot and successfully complete what has been a difficult season in the Central Midlands League. Finally, the Charity side which continues to be a beacon of goodwill and continues to raise valuable funds for local and national causes. All of these successes fill me with pride.
Whilst those on the pitch have created memories to last a lifetime and rightfully take the plaudits, its the people off it who enable such successes. Thank you to Rachel Townsend who stepped in as Club Welfare officer and has been an absolute god send. The role is not easy but she has made it look so, so easy. I appreciate you!
Thank you to Rhys Watkinson who is a pillar of support and does help navigate pathways to keep the club going. His refereeing also at times helps us, especially in pre season.
Thank you to the team managements - Kev Connor, Scott Bouvier, Jack Doughty, Jordan Manners, Ash Eaton, Andy Storer and my own coach beard Dylan Newman. Without you guys, there are no teams and there is no football. I appreciate each of you immensely.
Thank you to Dan Burrows, despite not being as involved so much the last few months you have helped with the pathway from Moorgreen to ourselves and chipped in with encouragement for our teams. It isn't unnoticed.
Thank you to those who play roles that certainly many do not think about - the kit washers and admin heroes. So Marie Storer, Ella Smallwood, Jack Doughty, Becky Bouvier and Zoe Connor... Thank you!
The Dale Club - Our home. Phil and Tracy you are amazing. Thank you for everything you provide us with. It may not be Wembley but its our Wembley. Andy Davis, Thank you for helping myself with the pitch - Possibly the hardest pitch to maintain but we will slowly get there.
Finally, A HUGE thank you to our team sponsors - Without these we may not have kits, equipment and footballs to even play our games. So a massive thanks to Midlands Asbestos Solutions, Ewemove Nuthall & Eastwood, JSM Electrics, Glenn Richardson and ASG Phoenix, The Daughter Electrical - Gina York, P Hughes Construction.
As you can see there is a lot that goes on, off the pitch and I again thank everyone involved. From humble Sunday League beginnings to providing over 100+ adults football every weekend. Incredible.
I look forward to celebrating the successes on Saturday June 20th at our home The Dale Club before we do it all over again next season.
UP THE E&K!
